I see…through the eyes of a blind man
and the hopes of a fool.
Ingeniously I’ve created
a pathetic masquerade.
Dancing till I’m worn –
pirouetting as I do,
then let my heart fall away.
For the jester’s in place
and I’ve followed no rules.
While I set forth no game
I still had to lose.
I’m ragged from running
for a thousand plus years.
I’m empty inside
yet there’s no longer room
for the sadness of one who makes
mistakes of a fool.
